Getting Ready for Camp...

Once we got everything approved for Camp we had a meeting with the parents and girls to give them some information about what we'd be doing at Camp.  Here are a few things we did in preparation for that...

I used clip art mostly from my Word,
but I also found great free clipart here at Melonheadz LDS illustrations

This was our Camp Scripture.

Girls Camp Mug Shots

We had such a good time at Girl's Camp 2013!  I know I have been slow to share but here is a sample of the fun Mug Shots we took on the last day of camp.

I'm the Florida Girl...

Who loves seafood! I think one of my favorite things about Florida and living near the coast is having scrumptious seafood available year round.  This was last night's dinner, courtesy of JB's Fish Camp.

Girl's Camp 2013

I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (yep, I'm a Mormon) and currently I work with the young women age 12-18.  They are loads of fun!  Every summer the girls participate in a Young Women Girl's Camp, typically with a fairly large group of girls.  This summer we were in charge of having girl's camp on a ward level - which means versus a 100 girls we had 13 girls.

Smaller Group + One Great Fundraiser = Lots of Possibilities

First we chose the place, then we picked a theme.

Our theme this year was....

Lolly Jane

We took it from a talk given by Pres. Thomas S. Monson,

Once we found a theme - the ideas were seemingly endless.
We wanted the girls to understand that instead of being overwhelmed with all that life is and can be,
to set small goals that would bring them closer to one another,
closer to their families, and closer to their Heavenly Father.

We created a Daily Goal board - these became our daily theme:

Friendship
Service
Humor
Gratitude

Sweet Summer Time...

Well I must admit I have certainly taken a long break from blogging this year.  That isn't to say I haven't had lots of great things to blog about.  Actually so many projects I haven't had time to blog.  BUT I have been trying to take pictures, save documents, etc. so that now that I have a little free time in the summer I can share them with you.

This summer has started out crazy but I am happy to say I am finding some down time at our lake house.
I could live here permanently - or at least I think I could!

...so here are a few things I have been working on that I am going to get posted over the next couple of weeks...

Girl's Camp & All of It's Adventures
(Oh the Crafts, Glorious Crafts)

My Spring Garden
Canning some of my Harvest

Bread & Jam
